Andrea’s Background in Housing and Community Development
Andrea knows housing deeply. It is more than roofs and walls. For example, it builds strong communities. She oversees construction and strategic planning at Habitat for Humanity across Emmet, Cheboygan, and Charlevoix Counties.Moreover, her passion started at Kalamazoo College. There, studying sociology sparked her drive. Then, she joined a lasting neighborhood organizing effort.After nearly 20 years in Emmet County, Andrea has seen the crisis up close. She previously led the Housing Ready Program at Housing North. In that role, she helped municipalities remove barriers and connect with developers.Additionally, her hospitality career showed how workforce housing shortages hurt employees and businesses in tourist areas.
