Biere de Mac is honored to be awarded “Best Brewery” in the Traverse City magazine My North Red Hot Best. We also won the Runner Up in the “Best Locally Made Hard Beverage” category for our Dock Porter – English Porter. See a list of all the winners here.
“We are truly blessed to have such a hard working and diligent team here at the Biere de Mac. I think that often times we are forgotten about in the Traverse City area. Awards like these reassure us that we are on the right track and that our attention to detail always pays off in the end.” Head Brewer, Danny Ranville says. “Honestly, it is nice to be recognized for our beer and that people actually took the time to vote for us in the Best Brewery category. It is a difficult job but very rewarding.”
Dock Porter – English Porter is Runner UP
You can find the Dock Porter on tap at the brewery now and we will be keeping it on our board for the foreseeable future. We are pretty confident that folks will probably be coming in to give it a try in the coming months. Named after our all the hard working dock porters on Mackinac Island delivering obnoxious amounts of bags and luggage to the various hotels, it comes in at 4.9% ABV and 27 IBU’s we used English imported grains, hops and yeast. Our Dock Porter is a beautiful rendition of a timeless classic. Slight sweet roast with subtle hints of caramel, and a bready, medium bodied mouthfeel. The Dock Porter is very well rounded beer and is easy on the drinkers palate.
This isn’t the first time Biere de Mac has won in the Red Hot Best awards. In fact, the year Biere de Mac opened its doors in 2017, the taproom placed third for Best Restaurant in the Straits Area. New this year to BDM, pizza from Smelted Woodfired Pizza Co. will be available for our patrons. With seven different pizzas and a few rotating varieties, guests are sure to find something they fancy. Guests can also add anchovies to any pizza as well.
